GOALKEEPER Molly Povey signed off her Petts Wood Jays U11s career in style by helping her side to victory in the Selkent Shield.

Povey is moving on to join an all girls team next season and will be a big loss to Petts Wood, according to manager Laurie Manning.

Ben Manning scored from the penalty spot in the 2-1 triumph over Phoenix Pumas, with the other goal coming courtesy of Marvin Armstrong.

There was more Selkent Shield success for Petts Wood as the U13 Hawks edged a five-goal thriller with Red Dragon.

Petts Wood had a horror start and were 2-0 down inside the opening 10 minutes.

However, an inspiring half-time team talk from manager Mick Collier and assistant Rob King had the desired effect as the game was turned on its head.

They scored three times in the second half through Tanyaradza Chirinda, Max Kane and Jack Hever to seal what had looked at one stage to be an unlikely victory, a result which left Red Dragon stunned.
