VIEWPOINT produced a superb performance when they won the Hospitals Charity Cup by beating Kent County League side Lanes End 3-0 at Welling United’s Park View ground.
The game was scoreless at the interval, due mainly to the exploits of the Lanes End keeper who somehow kept out the lively Viewpoint team.
However, there was nothing he could do to prevent Viewpoint breaking the deadlock five minutes into the second half and they went on to add another two.
Competition chairman Peter Hunter presented the trophy to Viewpoint captain Martin Brown after the game.
Meanwhile, Bean secured the runners-up spot in Division One last Tuesday without kicking a ball.
Culverstone United could have pipped them for second place had they beaten Viewpoint Reserves by eight goals.
Ironically there were eight goals scored but they were shared between the sides, James Simmons notched a hat trick for Culverstone with Andy Dymott getting the fourth for the village side.
Replying for Viewpoint Reserves were Dominic Hewitt (2), Owen Turner and Tommy Vine.
Viewpoint did all they could on the field in their efforts to get second place by beating NK Aces 6-2 in their and the leagues final game of season.
The League council have a number of cancelled fixtures to discuss at their next meeting and decisions on these games will determine whether Viewpoint are runners-up.
