BROMLEY will come away from this game feeling disappointed they did not take all three points, writes Patrick Harris.

In a very impressive display at home to mid-table East Thurrock United they could not make the vital breakthrough despite their dominance of the second half.

The game got off to the worst start possible for Bromley and their debutant keeper Mark Davidson, who joined on-loan from Fulham this week.

He made a good save from the Rocks first shot but Shaun Batt pounced on the rebound to make it 1-0 to the visitors after just 40 seconds.

But from then on the young custodian did well and visibly grew in confidence as the match went on.

Bromley picked themselves up from the poor start quickly and were level on 10 minutes when Sam Wood sent in a low cross and Adrian Stone dived to head the ball home.

The game evened out with Davidson making a great double save from Martin Tuohy and Elliott Gresham while at the other end Mark Willy crashed a header against the bar and Des Boateng saw his shot saved by Danny Knowles.

Bromley finished the half on top with Boateng hitting the side netting from a corner but it remained 1-1 at the break.

The second half got off to a lively start for the Lillywhites as Stone fired a Wood cross over, Ellis Remy sent an over-head kick over the bar and Wood also blasted high of the target.

As the pressure continued Bromley had what appeared to be a clear penalty turned down by the referee when Wood was kicked in the stomach by Scott Holding challenging at the far post.

The Rocks edged their way back into things with Batt shooting just wide and Davidson making a good stop from Holding.

The hosts had a number of free kicks just outside the box but could not break down the Essex side's resolute defence and even after Mick Stanbrook was sent off for verbally abusing the linesman, there was no way past the 10 men and George Wakeling had to settle for a point.
