Cambridge Utd 1 v 1 Fleet
Nationwide Conference
FLEET boss Liam Daish was left to rue the red card which he believes cost his team all three points.
Jimmy Jackson put Fleet ahead in the first half with a sweetly struck free-kick but following Paul McCarthy's dismissal in the second half for a professional foul, Courtney Pitt eqaulised with only 13 minutes to go.
Daish said: "We started well and after we got the goal I felt the most comfortable I've felt for a long time.
"But I lost my top-scorer to injury at half-time, then we got the red card."
He added: "In hindsight, Paul McCarthy made the wrong decision and he knows it but it is easy to say so from here.
"I'd rather he let the player go as I've got a good keeper in Craig Holloway and he can earn you three points."
So good is Holloway he has been named as one of three stoppers in the non-league England preliminary squad.
Holloway, who has two England caps at under-15 and under-16 levels, has to wait until later this week to see if he has made the cut for the team set to face Italy in next month's Euro non-league championship.
The 21-year-old said: "I got into the initial squad when I was at Farnborough last season but did not make the cut. If I make it this time I will be chuffed to bits."
