Walton Casuals 0 v 1 Cray
Ryman Division One
MATT Woolf's well-taken 65th-minute goal was enough for Cray to complete a double over newly-promoted Casuals, writes Jerry Dowlen.
Junior Baker, pushed forward to play as an emergency striker, got a powerful nod-down in the box and Woolf placed his cross-shot beyond the reach of keeper Danny Andrews.
Missing strikers Leigh Bremner through suspension and Gary Abbott and Jamie Wood to injury the Wands created few chances and had to thank Steve Northwood (below) for his star efforts in goal.
Northwood made two smart saves from Casuals' leading scorer Greg Ball and his safe hands saw Cray survive late pressure against the strong wind when Cray conceded a series of corner-kicks and free-kicks.
Cray nearly grabbed a second goal when Matt Lovell's low cross was sliced towards his own goal by defender John Ambridge but the ball just cleared the bar.
