Bromley 1 v 2 Fisher Athletic
Ryman Premier League
BROMLEY lost out to a high-flying, big-spending Fisher side who were just too good on the night playing some of the best football seen at Hayes Lane this season.
The hosts lined up 3-5-2 but played mostly with five at the back as Fisher dominated the early play without breaking through.
Bromley rallied and came back into the game with Mark Tompkins shooting just wide before the Ravens took the lead on 20 minutes.
Allan McLeod sent in a low cross which was deflected into his own net by Chris Piper.
Fisher then pushed Bromley back into their own half and Steve West shot just over, Steve Watts hit the foot of the post, Andy Walker made a good save from Damian Scannell and Charlie Hearn fired just over.
The visitor's pressure finally paid off on 42 minutes when Piper atoned for his own goal by finishing off a great run by playing a one-two in the box and scoring low into the corner of the net.
There was a lively spell of end to end play going into half time but no more goals.
Sam Wood replaced the injured Danny Carroll at half-time and Bromley switched to 4-4-2 for the second half.
There were early chances at either end - Scannell shooting just wide for Fisher and Gary Drewett doing the same for Bromley.
Fisher pressed Bromley back as the half went on with the Ravens launching the occasional counter-attack.
Former Leyton Orient striker Watts headed just wide from a corner but then Bromley rallied and created their own chances.
Tompkins shot just over, Barry Gardner fired wide after a good run and then a great move involving Wood, Billy Harding and Ellis Remy saw the debutant striker have his shot well saved by James Pullen.
But as Bromley looked to be gaining the ascendancy they were caught out on 79 minutes by a ball over the top into the box where Boateng fouled Charlie Taylor for a penalty.
Former QPR player Hamid Barr stepped up and smashed the ball past Walker for 1-2.
The Ravens pressed for an equaliser and had a good penalty shout turned down by the referee when Harding appeared to be fouled.
Fisher Keeper Pullen was booked for time wasting as the away side tried to run the clock down but there was still time for Remy to have a shot saved from a Harding cross.
Wood was then brought down during a fantastic run in from the left but nothing came of the free kick and Athletic took the three points back to Docklands.
