FOLLOWING their FA Trophy mis-hap at Boreham Wodd, Fleet came back with a comfortable victory over arch-rivals Canvey Island.
Despite the dismissal of Bradley Johnson early in the second half for two yellow cards, goals from Paul McCarthy and Charlie MacDonald secured the win.
Boss Liam Diash said: "My players never cease to amaze me.
"At Boreham Wood we were poor but against Canvey Island we were always in command.
"Even then we made it hard for ourselves as we should have had a three-goal lead by half-time."
On Johnson's two cards one for kicking the ball away and the other for taking a free-kick he thought had been awarded to Fleet Daish said: "He honestly thought the kick had been given in our favour. I think a bit of common sense should have been shown."
Away from the pitch Fleet have signed Fulham's left-sided defender Robert Watkins on loan. He was available for the visit of Grays Athletic fixture last night.
