VCD 0 v 2 Beckenham
Kentish Observer Kent League
VCD Athletic boss Martin Ford is appealing to the community to pack out Harrow Meadow when his side take on Broxbourne Borough in the FA Vase this weekend.
To reach this stage VCD have played five matches away from home beating Oakwood, Saltdean United, Cove, Colliers Wood United and Arundel.
Now, at home for the first time, VCD take on Broxbourne of the Spartan South Midland for a place in the last 16.
Ford said: "This is the biggest match this club has ever played. To get into the last 16 would be a fantastic achievement but it really is possible.
"If we can get some support from everyone in the area who fancies supporting us on the day then it could really make all the difference.
"We have watched Broxbourne and this is a game we can win."
Ford has injury concerns saying: "Danny Penny, Steve Hogg and Chris Whitehouse are all struggling while Mark Horan is cup-tied and midfielder Kevin Winchcombe is still out injured."
The match kicks off at 3pm on January 21 at Harrow Meadow, the ground they share with Greenwich Borough.
In the Kent League VCD lost 2-0 to high-flying Beckenham while a draw with Tunbridge Wells in the group stages of the League Cup was enough to see them through to the quarter-finals.
