St Albans City 3 v 1 Welling
Nationwide Conference South
WELLING United boss Adrian Pennock has exclusively revealed his anger at accusations of unsportsmanlike behaviour which appeared in a national newspaper.
The Non-League Paper told how, at the end of the Wings first defeat in eight games, Pennock refused to shake hands with St Albans boss Colin Lippiatt.
However, Pennock told News Shopper it could not be further from the truth.
He said: "I am not very happy with the paper as anyone who knows me knows I am not like that.
"There were disagreements between the dugouts during the match but I shook Colin's hand as I do every other manager win, lose or draw.
"Colin phoned me Sunday morning to point out the report and we talked about it in disbelief."
A Jamie Day strike was not enough for the Wings.
