Dartford Ladies 1 v 6 Castle Colts
SECWFL League Division 1 East
HJF DARTFORD Ladies' league misery deepened both on and off the pitch after fielding another depleted side against Castle Colts and losing heavily, writes Brian Page.
At present the team is without three key midfielders and two goalkeepers meaning Dartford were forced to put striker Claire Stork in goal.
Colts soon took advantage and established an early lead which was almost doubled on the half-hour mark but Stork pulled off a fingertip save from close range.
But a three-goal blitz in a five-minute spell put the visitors four goals in front, making Harriet Hill's strike for Dartford nothing but a consolation and the Oakfield Lane side were trailing 4-1 at the interval.
As plucky Dartford looked to reduce the deficit Tessa Bird fired wide.
But Colts hit back with two more quick goals to secure all three points.
Dartford's Rachel Elson had a goal disallowed for being offside and no one could stop Dartford from suffering their biggest defeat of the season so far.
Hill was nominated man-of-the-match for her goal and overall midfield performance.
Dartford: Stork; Beaney; Sutherland; Taylor; Benham; de Waal; Hill; Vickers; Elson; Taylor (Donnelly, 75); Bird.
Dartford host Teynham Gunners on December 11 December in The Chairman's Cup. Kick-off 2pm.
