Whitstable 4 v 3 Thamesmead
Sevenoaks 1 v 3 Slade Green
Kentish Observer Kent League
THAMESMEAD Town did not enjoyed their trip to Whitstable after a last minute goal meant their hosts took all three points.
Coach Keith McMahon said: "We have got to learn to defend sensibly. We had not learnt from conceding late goals in the midweek London cup defeat at Waltham Abbey."
Whitstable held a slim lead at half-time thanks to Steve Marshall's seventh minute lob.
Marshall scored quickly in the second half to extend the lead before Marc Seager clawed one back almost immediately.
On 59 minutes Mead were level from a Lee Loveridge header and they went ahead through Sam Thomas.
But Whitstable restored parity on 71 minutes thanks to Aaron Knight and then on 89 minutes Andy Constable completed the free-scoring match.
It was happier days for Slade Green who returned from Sevenoaks with a deserved win.
Mark Penny opened the scoring on 27 minutes with a header from Robert Browning's corner.
Jason Elliott extended the lead after his header rebounded off the post, behind the keeper and along the goal line for Elliott to tap in.
Sevenoaks pulled a goal back through James Short.
Green re-asserted themselves and Tony Gallagher completed the scoring as he rose at the far post to dispatch another Browning cross.
