Boreham Wood 4 v 1 Bromley
FA Trophy 2nd Round Qualifying
BROMLEY limped out of the FA Trophy after being comprehensively outclassed for an hour in Hertfordshire.
From the beginning The Wood, who are top of Southern League Eastern Division, tore Bromley apart at will with a combination of fast wing play and good set pieces.
Matters were not helped when Bromley suffered a massive blow straight from the kick off with Allan McLeod going down with a shoulder injury which required hospital treatment.
With no fit defenders available Fraser Logan came on and Adam Locke slotted in as emergency right back.
From then on The Wood attacked down the wings and opened the defence up at will.
The first goal came on 22 minutes when Leon Archer finished off a good move.
Two minutes later Archer made it 2-0 following confusion between Andy Walker and Joe Vines.
The second half started evenly but The Wood made the vital breakthrough on 56 minutes to secure the result.
Walker collected a corner but dropped the ball as he landed and Chris Bangura pounced for 3-0.
As in the first half Boreham Wood scored within two minutes when Ian Cooper smashed home a corner after Bromley failed to clear.
On the hour Bromley scored their consolation when a Logan cross was spilled by Noel Imber and Nic McDonnell headed in from close range.
Imber pulled off good saves from Kevin George and Logan as Bromley rallied.
Logan was denied by a goal line clearance late on and the rebound was deflected wide.
With only three fit defenders left it may be a blessing in disguise to have gone out of one of the many cup competitions.
Bromley: Walker; McLeod; Luckett, Vines, Willy, Drewett, Gardener, Locke, Stone, McDonnell, Wood. Subs: George, Falana, Logan, Tompkins.
