Weymouth 2 v 1 Welling Nationwide Conference South
WELLING United were narrowly beaten by Weymouth ahead of their host's sell out FA Cup replay against Nottingham Forest.
Weymouth will be ready for the League One side having extended their unbeaten run to 13 games with this victory over The Wings.
Welling were guilty of missing a hatful of chances while Weymouth, whose current first team coach is former Wings boss Kevin Hales, were clinical.
Goals in each half from Brian Dutton and Danny Shipp secured the points for Weymouth.
A late strike from Matt Carruthers gave the travelling support a glimmer of hope only to be reduced to 10 men when Matt Lee was dismissed for two bookable offences.
Welling: Turner; Lee; Solomon; Owen; C Moore; Shearer; Green (D Moore, 64); Bodkin; Carruthers; Stadhart; Day.
Subs: Penfold; Pennock; Lye; Ibrahim.
