AN 84th minute equaliser from Leigh Bremner earned the Wands a good away point at Bognor, who are battling to get out of the bottom four in the table.
Cray made the brighter start, but Marcus Cassius couldn't capitalise on an early chance set up for him by George Porter.
The Rocks came more into the game and took the lead on 31 minutes when Lewis Dunk headed home from a free-kick.
Chasing the game, the Wands brought on their experienced new midfielder Des Boateng for the second half, and later on they introduced young Liam Bellamy who has joined on work experience from Charlton Athletic.
Both goalkeepers Anthony Ender (Bognor) and Tony Kessell (Cray) were called upon to make good saves, and Cray skipper Mark Willy made an acrobatic clearance off the line to deny the Rocks a second goal.
The visitors created several chances during the later stages of the game, with Bremner always in the thick of the action.
Bremner's reward came six minutes from time when he netted from a nod-down by John Guest following a free-kick sent in by Colin Luckett.
Cray: Kessell, Lover, Luckett, Quinn, Willy, Guest, Porter, Day (Bellamy), Cassius (L Wood), Bremner, J Wood (Boateng).
Cray are at home to Ashford Town on Tuesday in the Kent Senior Cup 3rd round (7.45pm) and at home to Wealdstone in the Ryman Premier next Saturday (3pm).
Meanwhile, Cray's popular defender Steve Aris, 31, has retired from the game.
Aris was a key signing for the Wands in the 2007-08 season and went on to play more than 100 games for the club, scoring 11 goals.
