Ten-man Cray were devestated to lose to a late goal at Tonbridge, after a dramatic second half comeback seemed to have gained them a point at the Longmead Stadium.

Cray started brightly, and hit the post with a header from Marcus Cassius whose loan period from Bromley has been extended.

But the Wands faded and the home side took a two-goal lead before the interval.

Worse still for Cray their ex-Tonbridge midfielder Tommy Tyne was dismissed late on in the first half for a second yellow card, both cards ironically coming from tackles on former Cray midfielder Scott Kinch who has recently rejoined the Angels.

It looked all over for Cray, but after weathering early pressure in the second half, with Pat Brennan making some good saves, they pulled back a goal when Leigh Bremner seized a loose ball and shot home.

Cray remarkably drew level at two-all with eleven minutes to go, when a strong run by George Porter saw him brought down in the box, enabling Colin Luckett to score from the penalty-spot.

But the ten-man visitors were punished for a late defensive error that allowed Tonbridge to grab the winner.

Cray travel to promotion-chasing Boreham Wood this Saturday (3pm).

The death has been announced of the former Cray Wanderers manager Harry Richardson. He brought success to the club in the early 1980s when the Wands won the Kent League championship and reached the quarter-final of the FA Vase.
