WELLING United’s under-nines have won a day behind the scenes at Chelsea FC after victory at the Chelsea Elite 48 tournament.
The youngsters will visit the Premiership side’s training ground in Cobham where they will get the chance to meet the likes of John Terry, Joe Cole and Frank Lampard.
Success in the Chelsea Elite 48 tournament on July 12 is the highlight of an impressive summer for the boys, who all attend primary schools in Bexley and Bromley.
The newly formed side won the Kingfisher tournament on June 20 and followed up their triumph in the Chelsea Elite 48 event with victory in the Tonbridge tournament one week later.
Manager Dave Shaw said: “This is a very special group of boys who work as a team and record some fantastic wins.
“They pass, they read the game and they play as a team.
“It is a pleasure and a privilege to manage such an awesome group.
“The boys are looking forward to the new campaign and hope they can repeat their pre-season success.”
