EBBSFLEET United Ladies and Girls FC hosted their second annual summer tournament on Sunday.
The tournament’s entry had doubled since last year with under-10, under-12 and under-14 contests running in the morning and ladies five and seven a side competitions in the afternoon.
Ebbsfleet were delighted with the improved entry of around 40 teams competing, including sides like West Ham Ladies, Maidenhead Ladies and Anchorians.
A successful day was completed with Ebbsfleet Ladies winning the five a side competition after beating Maidstone Town in a closely-fought final.
The ladies’ seven a side tournament was played on a league basis with six teams taking part, including two from West Ham, who finished as winners and runners-up.
Meanwhile, Ebbsfleet United Ladies’ pre-season friendlies begin this week as they prepare for the new season in the SE Combination League, which kicks off on August 16.
Chelmsford, Brighton & Hove and Colchester will provide the pre-season opposition, but the Fleet are still looking for three or four players to bolster their ranks.
They are also searching for a new sponsor and if you would like to get involved, email ladies@eufc.co.uk or visit ebbsfleetunited.co.uk
