EBBSFLEET United are considering an £80,000 bid from one club for Michael Gash and Darius Charles.

However, the potential double transfer will need to be given the green light by the MyFC membership first, with the poll set to close at noon on Wednesday.

Under the terms of the proposed move, £40,000 would be paid immediately on completion and a further £40,000 on January 1.

Ebbsfleet would receive 20 percent of any future transfer fee received by the unnamed club for either player.

The Fleet would also receive a further £5,000 for each player if the unnamed club are promoted if the player is contracted to the club in the season of the promotion.

Liam Daish, the Fleet board and the club accountant have recommended the club's owners accept this £80,000 offer.

A joint statement said: “Following the club’s request to raise additional funding, Liam Daish and the board would like to sincerely thank the several hundred members who have given additional funds towards the playing budget.

“This money will be used to help build a competitive squad.

“However, we are still some way short of, and look extremely unlikely to hit, the required £7,000 a week target.

“It currently stands at approximately £4,500.

“Retaining Gash and Charles would mean that the rest of the squad has to be built with around £3,000 per week.

“Following the club’s recommendation, the sale of the players would mean the weekly playing budget increases to around £6,250, giving Liam a fighting chance of building a squad capable of surviving in the Blue Square Premier next season.”

Meanwhile, Peter Danzey has been appointed club secretary at Stonebridge Road following the recent departure of Roly Edwards.
