BROMLEY FC owner Jerry Dolke has told News Shopper he is still actively looking for a new buyer for the Hayes Lane club.

Mr Dolke put the Lillywhites up for sale in the summer and although nobody has purchased it yet, he has reiterated his belief the right person is still out there who can take Bromley to the next level.

He said: “The club is still up for sale, but I haven’t had any firm offers yet.

“We are actively looking for investors or an investor who can make a total buyout of the club so Bromley can compete and push on with better budgets.”

Mr Dolke conceded there have been cutbacks in recent months as the global downturn in the economy begins to hit sport, but called on the fans to rally around and get behind Mark Goldberg’s side.

He explained: “We are in an economic crisis, which is effecting businesses who have supported us and are finding it hard to justify having advertising hoardings at Hayes Lane when they are having to let people go.

“In the last seven years, we’ve been very proud of what we have achieved, but now we need to consolidate on that.”

Mr Dolke added: “People need to remember where we were in 2001, bottom of the Ryman Division One and on the brink of sliding into the Kent League.

“We’ve come through the bad times and what Bromley FC needs more than anything now is for everyone to get behind us and help support us through this difficult financial period.

“What we must have are players who are prepared to really role up their sleeves and pitch in.”
