A FOOTBALL team have enjoyed a year to remember after completing a cup double in their final season together.

The Year 10 North Kent District side enjoyed triumphs in both the Kent Cup Fletcher Trophy in May before adding the London District Cup Corinthians Trophy last month.

Comprising members from schools across north Kent, the squad overcame Corinthians 1-0 in the Kent Cup final thanks to Nad Nwitua’s winning goal.

And the boys followed up this success by edging out Barking & Dagenham 3-2 in the London District Cup at West Ham’s Academy Ground on September 16 thanks to Jay Smale (2) and Louis Rankin.

The team, who are based at St. Columba’s School, Bexleyheath, competed in the Kent Schools Football Association for districts and The London Schools Football Association for districts as a Year 10 outfit.

However, they do not have a team for Year 11 and so their double success proved to be the perfect swansong for the boys.
