VIEWPOINT maintained their unbeaten record against Ace of Clubs this season with a 4-1 success in the second round replay of the Gordon Charity Cup, writes Bill Baldwin.

Dave Goodwin's hat-trick and a solo effort from James Green booked Viewpoint's place in the next stage and ensured Karl Hotchkiss's goal for Ace was a mere consolation.

In round two itself, there was no shortage of goal action in the meeting at the AEI ground between Waterloo and Viewpoint Reserves.

Waterloo edged it 8-6 thanks to Kirk Mitten (3), Ross Fegan (2), Micky Rosa (2) and Steve Leece with Tommy Sparks (2), Sean Harris (2), Tim Lamb and Cameron Gray all on target for Viewpoint's second string.

AZ82 suffered a major blow in their 4-2 defeat at Horns Cross United when they lost leading scorer Tony Uwanogho with a suspected dislocated shoulder after just two minutes.

Horns Cross opened their account after 20 minutes when Paul Codling opened the scoring and doubled the advantage on the stroke of half-time through Aston Quinn. AZ never gave up the fight and pulled one goal back early in the second half before further strikes from Quinn and William Dunk secured victory for Horns Cross, despite a late second for AZ.

In the only Premier Division game of the day, Lullingstone Castle pulled further clear at the top thanks to a 6-2 victory at Real Man of Kent.

Paul Brookstein (2), Ryan Orpwood (2), Mark Horan and Matt Allen put the Lullies in command before a late Carl Morson brace restored some pride for the hosts.

In Division One, leaders Guru Nanak Reserves were at home to the team who beat them by 7-0 before Christmas, Swan Valley.

An early double from the returning Kevin Bowles gave Ace the perfect start before Woodlands reduced the deficit thanks to Kevin Dunman's diving header.

Ace made it 4-1 before the break with goals from Paul Jackson and Charlie Graham before adding two more in the second period through Craig Josh and Darren Berry.

An 80th minute volley from Rob Bradbury was enough to lift Duke of Wellington off the foot of the table in a 1-0 success at The Rising Eagles.

In Division Two, there was no stopping Heathview United as they demolished Culverstone United 8-0 at home with Lee Collard, Paul Ellis, Lee Biggs, Dan Jones and Dan Thomas all among the goals.

Theer were 10 goals in the meeting between Beausports and Fleetway Printers and it was Fleetway who came away as 6-4 victors.
