Dartford have finally discovered they will play in the Conference again next season after Salisbury City’s financial problems saw them officially relegated late this afternoon.
The Wiltshire club released a statement on their website at lunchtime revealing they had been demoted.
But the initial lack of official confirmation from the Football Conference meant Dartford were still unaware of their reprieve, an anxious wait for fans which is now over.
A full statement explaining the decision was posted at teatime on footballconference.co.uk but the final paragraph read: “The consequence of today's decision means Dartford FC will be reprieved from relegation to Conference South and will be replaced in the constitution of this division by Salisbury City.”
