BILL Long hopes Charlton women’s team can keep building the momentum they have built up in the past two games when they visit Watford on Sunday.
The Addicks followed up a win over Premier League champions Sunderland with a 2-0 victory over bottom of the table Barnet last weekend thanks to goals from Sinead Boyer and Gemma Shepherd.
And Long hopes the manner of their triumph over the Black Cats, thanks to two Shepherd strikes, gives them confidence going into yet another difficult clash, the first of two in a row against Watford.
He said: “The Sunderland win was very important and gives us a little bit of a heads-up for Watford next week.
“That’s going to be a really tough game for us.
“It’ll be nice to roll into that game with lots of confidence now.
“We should take confidence out of the last couple of weeks and there’s nothing stopping us getting a result there.
“Earlier in the season in the League Cup we beat them 1-0 with a minute to go in extra-time and Watford have been beaten last weekend, so they will come back and want to prove a point.
“It’s going to be a massive game.
“We’re going to have to roll our sleeves up and hopefully we will go there with the right attitude and the right ideas and come away with some sort of a result.”
