BROMLEY suffered another defeat at the Silverlake Stadium on Tuesday evening when they went down to three late goals which moved Eastleigh into the play-off positions.

It was at least a vast improvement on recent performances with plenty of endeavour from the Lillywhites, but in the end their opponents proved a little too strong for them.

Jack Holland was moved out of the back four to play up front with Louie Theophanous and the Crystal Palace loanee did not disappoint.

Eastleigh had the better of the exchanges throughout with a series of half chances and corners, but a combination of fine defending and wayward finishing kept the scores blank for 75 minutes.

The introduction of Craig McAllister for Damian Scannell with 20 minutes remaining certainly paid dividends for the home side, as his quick-fire hat-trick inside 10 minutes sealed Bromley’s fate.

Chris Zebroski’s persistence down the right flank resulted in McAllister heading home the winger’s pinpoint cross from within the six yard box on 75 minutes.

McAllister’s second arrived with eight minutes remaining when, unmarked, he converted Glen Southam’s corner.

And he completed his hat-trick two minutes later from the penalty spot after Aaron Rhule had upended Zebroski when the pair were going for a loose ball.

Before the goals, Southam, Zebroski, Dean Beckwith and Jai Reason all had efforts on goal either blocked or saved by Bromley keeper Joe Welch.

Sanchez Ming shot wide for Bromley when well placed and just before the interval Holland played Theophanous in on goal, but Eastleigh keeper Ross Flitney was quickly out to block with his legs.

The second half followed a similar pattern to the first with Corey King, Scannell and Zebroski going close for the home side.

Bromley might have opened the scoring on 56 minutes when Holland did well to win a corner, from which Elliott Buchanan’s shot bounced just wide of the upright.

Ishmael Welsh robbed Chris Todd on the touchline five minutes later to send in a cross which saw Pierre Joseph-Dubois have two goal-bound shots blocked by defenders, the ball eventually going out for a corner.

Reason had a powerful shot well saved by Welch before Holland volleyed over following a cross from the left.

Then came the substitution and the first goal, but Bromley might have levelled before the second as Ming had a goal-bound effort blocked on the line, while Danny Waldren was not far away with an acrobatic over head kick.

This result leaves Bromley in 17th place in the table and after Tuesday evening’s other results, they need three points from their remaining three games to ensure Conference South football next season.
