MILLWALL boss Kenny Jackett believes Crystal Palace are not the only side with a wealth of attacking options going into Saturday’s derby at Selhurst Park.

The Eagles are flying high at the moment and scoring for fun, with wingers Wilfried Zaha and Yanick Bolasie setting up plenty of chances for in-form striker Glenn Murray to convert.

Palace go into the game sitting fourth in the table and although Jackett accepts his defence face a stern test, he isn’t making any pre-match predictions of a clean sheet, instead preferring to concentrate on the problems his side can cause the hosts.

“We will see, it is one thing saying it and another thing doing it,” the Den chief responded when asked if was confident of keeping Palace out.

“We are obviously looking to do well and part of that is trying to keep a good strike force quiet.

“Glenn Murray has been in good form and both of their wide men are very good so they have plenty of fire power on form at the moment.

“We understand that but we concentrate on ourselves and want to be giving Palace a few problems going forward.

“I feel we are certainly capable of doing so.

“Darius Henderson has six goals, Andy Keogh scored for Ireland against Germany last week, Chris Wood is coming back from international duty with New Zealand and there is Shaun Batt and Dany N’Guessan – a number of players going forward we feel can score goals.

“Liam Trotter has made a bright start and James Henry has been very good as well in terms of his crosses, so we have to make sure we capitalise on our strengths.

“My focus is on my own team and producing a performance which gives the opposition problems.”

This will be the first derby of the season and Jackett admits he is excited by the challenge ahead.

He said: “We are looking forward to it.

“We’ve gone three games unbeaten, had a good win against Bolton last time out and didn’t want that momentum to stop.

“But we must make sure the international break doesn’t hinder us and stop us going forward because we want to build on this good run. It is a very competitive league and this next batch of games of Palace away and Birmingham and Huddersfield at home are very important to us.

“It is important we build on the three games we’ve just played and continue our good run.

“The derby games are fantastic games to play in and we know there are a number of them this season.

“They are all games we are looking forward to.”

And Jackett will be boosted by some returning faces to keep the Eagles at bay.

He said: “The break has been a chance for us to get some knocks cleared up and make sure we’ve got people fit and available for what for us are three crucial games coming up.

“In terms of defenders we have Shane Lowry back after suspension and Karleigh Osborne back after injury.

“In the last game against Bolton we only had four defenders but now we have a few more.”
