KENNY Jackett has revealed it is unlikely any new faces will be arriving at The Den before the transfer window closes tomorrow.

The Lions boss admits the priority is to make some cuts after exceeding his present budget, making any moves into the club a low priority.

He said: “It has been well documented we are over budget at present and we need to trim a little bit, so I don’t think we will necessarily spend to speculate.

“We will do what we usually do and we will assess the team and perhaps see what we need.

“It is not necessarily a case of us moving one person out to get somebody else in.”

While it seems that there will be no new arrivals, defender Darren Ward seems to be on his way to Swindon on an initial loan with a view to a permanent switch in January.

Jackett said: “It seems as if that might be imminent.

“It hasn’t happened yet, it hasn’t been finalised but they are in discussions.”

But Dany N’Guessan’s hopes of a move to Charlton appear to be fading after the Addicks failed to follow up on their initial attempt to sign the player on loan last week, a bid which was rejected by Millwall.

“There is nothing new,” added Jackett.

“We have had enquiries for Dany at boardroom level from several clubs but I don’t think there is anything particularly imminent in terms of a deal being struck with anyone.

“Over the last couple of days it has gone quiet.

“Whether anything will happen before Friday I don’t know.”
