SATURDAY’S trip to Sheffield Wednesday should hold no fears for Millwall, according to manager Kenny Jackett.

The Owls have strengthened their squad since winning promotion from League One and were even linked with a possible loan move for Everton’s highly-rated youngster Ross Barkley last weekend.

Dave Jones’ side have made an impressive start to life in the Championship by following up Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Derby with a 3-2 victory over Birmingham on Tuesday evening.

But the Lions also enjoyed their first win midweek with a 2-1 success at Peterborough and Jackett sees no reason why his side can’t build on that at a packed Hillsborough.

He said: “Sheffield Wednesday are very positive after their promotion and will have 25,000 there.

“The wide men are very strong for them and they are in a very positive place but when you look at the division the Championship is full of those clubs. I “In the end you have to really concentrate on your own game plan and worry about yourself, getting your own side right and being good enough to make an impression.”

Jackett added: “We have to attempt to pick up where we left off at Peterborough on Tuesday.

“We are good enough to go up there and give them problems so that is what we have to do.

“The result and the performance at Peterborough was a good one.

“We created quite a number of good chances against Blackpool and probably had more chances in that game than on Tuesday.

“When you do score goals and put them away it does give everybody encouragement.”
