CHRIS Hackett's first goal of the season was enough to give his caretaker manager a hat-trick of league wins.
For the first time this season Millwall fielded an unchanged side and Willie Donachie was rewarded with all three points, making it 10 out of a possible 12 since taking over the reins.
The man with the Midas touch was quick to praise the man who he feels is holding it all together.
He said: "Richard Shaw has been fantastic this season and has been the one consistent factor.
"The whole squad is working hard but Richard is the boss of it all.
"We need him to stay fit because you can't beat experience. It's as simple as that.
"Lenny Pidgeley played well but like the others he's got lots to learn."
Donachie added: "They outplayed us in the second half but we still had two really good chances to score.
"There was Danny Haynes' one-on-one and Poul Hubertz blasting over the bar.
"They're a strong team and they made it hard for us but you need the breaks, which is what we've had today."
After issuing a rallying cry in midweek for stayaway fans to turn out and support the Lions, Donachie was rewarded with the biggest home attendance since the opening day of the season.
He said: "The fans were superb today and the numbers were fantastic. If we can keep winning and scoring there's a good and passionate fan base here.
"As for myself, I'm finding it enjoyable but it's a hard job.
"If it was easy there would be no need for managers and coaches."
Hackett's goal came in stoppage time at the end of the first half, firing home the rebound after Haynes' shot was blocked by Bournemouth's number one.
Cherries' Warren Cummings hit the post in the first half and the visitors, under new management, dominated the second half but could not break down the resolute Lions defence.
Millwall travel to Wales this weekend to take on Swansea.
