KENNY Jackett says only mega money would persuade Millwall to cash in on any of their stars during this month’s transfer window.
The Lions boss is confident he will keep hold of all of his squad before the deadline ends next week, despite interest in the likes of Paul Robinson and Liam Trotter.
Millwall rejected a bid from Reading earlier this week for club skipper Robinson and the defender yesterday publicly pledged his loyalty to the Lions on Twitter.
Midfielder Trotter has recently been linked with Everton and Bolton, but Jackett confirmed there has been no formal offer and although he wouldn’t welcome one, the manager did concede if the price was right there was always a chance of a rethink.
He told News Shopper: “There hasn’t been any contact and we would be very reluctant to sell any of our players, but I wouldn’t say every player hasn’t got his price because that is the way football is these days.
“Manchester United can sell Ronaldo and Arsenal can sell Fabregas so everyone has a price, but for any of our players it would have to be very high for us to consider selling anybody that we want to keep.
“I don’t know how busy next week will be for Millwall.
“In terms of ourselves we’ve got enquiries made.
“Whether anything comes to fruition I really don’t know because we are maybe reliant on people phoning us back on those enquiries we’ve made, so we will see.
“I don’t think it will be massively busy for us, I’m not sure anybody is set to go out as we stand at the moment and coming in I don’t think there will be massive numbers.
“Those enquiries we’ve made haven’t come up just now, they’ve been part of a long ongoing process.”
And on Robinson’s decision to stay, Jackett added: “I am delighted to hear that.
“Paul has got a great attitude and has made a terrific contribution in my time and before at Millwall.
“He also has many years left in him to do well for Millwall again.”
