KEITH McKay, co-editor of the Millwall fanzine No One Likes Us, give the fans' view It was not a convincing display but the 1-0 win over Oldham Athletic was very much deserved.

Millwall's play was positive but at times the midfield was lacking.

Marvin Elliott was all too often caught in possession and guilty of the wayward pass although Derek McInnes' display was much improved.

Meanwhile, Neal Ardley continues to be our best option in the centre.

However, as the game wore on you could sense the crowd were becoming increasingly impatient for the elusive goal with a draw looking likely.

Oldham smelt blood and looked to capitalise on the seemingly depreciating confidence within Millwall's ranks.

Millwall's forward play was faltering in the final third and as the groans coming from the stand were becoming increasingly exasperated, the Lions respsonded with Braniff putting in his best performance in a Millwall shirt.

For so long a figure of ridicule, the 23-year-old former under-21 Northern Ireland star displayed some great control, passing and aerial abilities.

If his departure from the game brought accolade from much of the ground on 71 minutes his replacement sent them into a frenzy.

Poul Hubertz's introduction changed the game. The Lions now resembled a more potent attacking unit with Filipe Morais and Tom Brighton switching wings and Willliams partnering Hubertz up front.

The goal when it came was well worked.

It was a result which gives the players, manager and fans alike some much needed confidence for the season ahead and the trip to Cheltenham.
