KENNY Jackett has refused to comment on speculation linking Bolton’s young star Danny Ward with a loan move to The Den.
However, the Millwall boss did hint there could be a new arrival at the club soon following last night's 2-1 Carling Cup win over Middlesbrough.
Ward was hugely impressive during a spell with Swindon Town last season and Trotters boss Owen Coyle has said the talented winger will be going out on loan again this term.
Millwall and Coventry have both been suggested as possible destinations for the 18-year-old but Jackett opted not to comment, out of respect to Bolton.
“I don't like talking about other people's players who are under contract elsewhere,” he said.
“I wouldn't like it if another manager was talking publicly about one of my players, so I try and do things professionally.”
But the Lions boss did say he is still hoping to strengthen his squad before the transfer window closes, and hinted there could be developments this week.
“We have looked to strengthen certain areas, there's no doubt about that, and if we can do some business this week we will,” he said.
“I wouldn't say anything is really imminent or that anything can happen straight away, right now.
“But I am hopeful that the phone will ring over the next few days.”
