Watford 0 v 2 Millwall
MILLWALL fans have a glimmer of hope after watching their side pull off a fantastic victory at promotion chasing Watford.
With six games remaining the Lions dare not dream they will survive but they are not going down without a fight.
Second-half goals from Carl Asaba and Ben May robbed the Hornets of their sting and secured three invaluable points.
Keeper Andy Marshall was on top form in the first half saving an Andy Mahon penalty.
And while Sheffield Wednesday's victory at Wolverhampton Wanderers keeps them five points ahead of Dave Tuttle's men, Southampton have found themselves in the relegation mire, just six points ahead of Millwall with a game in hand.
It all means this weekend's six-pointer against Brighton has added importance and Millwall still have to travel to the Saints before the season's end.
Tuttle said: "This result gives us a lift, there's no doubt about that and the players deserve a lot of credit.
"We knew we had to get a result as we all thought Sheffield Wednesday would get something at Wolves."
He added: "But it is not about other results because we have to concentrate on us, look after our own results and make sure we beat Brighton.
"I felt the whole team showed real character again and Barry Hayles and Carl Asaba put in great work-rate.
"Hayles only played for half an hour last week but he put everything he possibly could into it again today.
"Andy Marshall also deserves credit because he kept us in the game with the penalty save and was in one of those moods where nothing was going to get past him."
