BY THE end of next week Crystal Palace and Preston North End will know each other inside out.
The stalemate in the FA Cup which saw Andy Johnson's goal cancelled out by Brian O'Neil means the teams will meet again on February 7.
In addition to the Preston clashes, Palace face Cardiff City on Saturday, Sheffield Wednesday a week later followed sharply by London rivals QPR on February 14 and Millwall on February 18.
It means, including last night, Iain Dowie's men will have played six matches in 18 days an average of one every three days.
Dowie said: "We wanted the Preston match done and dusted in 90 minutes.
"We now have a ridiculous number of games in a short space of time but we have got to get on with it."
He added: "Against Preston in the cup we started strong but sat back and conceded the goal, then after that we finished the game well.
"I thought we were very strong, certainly in the last 20 minutes.
"They are a good side and it was a tough game, as the replay will be."
Palace could have won the match but Clinton Morrison struck the woodwork and Johnson had a goal ruled out for offside.
Whoever prevails in the replay faces either Coventry City or Middlesbrough in the fifth round.
