CRYSTAL Palace have been drawn away to Preston North End in the fourth round of the FA Cup. The tie, likely to be played at 3pm on January 28, comes just three days before Palace's league fixture with the same opponents, also at Deepdale. Ticket and travel arrangements will be posted on the club's official website shortly.
EAGLES midfielder Sam Togwell will now remain with League Two outfit Port Vale until February 2. His loan deal had been due to expire last Monday but Vale manager Martin Foyle has been sufficiently impressed with the 21-year-old's contribution to offer him an extended stay. For his part Togwell, who was also farmed out on loan to Saturday's FA Cup opponents Northampton last season, was keen to extend the deal which will now see him available for the club's FA Cup fourth round tie at Aston Villa. He said: "I feel my game's improved a lot over the past few weeks. On the down side it was obviously hard being away from friends and family over Christmas but that's part and parcel of being a footballer and you just have to get on with it."
SUPPORTERS are advised there is the possiblity of severe traffic congestion on one of the main routes into Hull on January 14, the day of Palace's visit to the KC Stadium. The Highways Agency has announced workmen will be altering the road layout on the A63 at Melton traffic lights as part of ongoing development works. As a result delays of up to one hour will be experienced at peak periods and weekends, so drivers should allow extra time to complete their journeys.
