Charlton 2 v 5 Man City

Barclays Premiership

CHARLTON boss Alan Curbishley admits he is worried by his side's poor form.

The defeat at home to Manchester City is the Addicks' sixth straight loss their worst run for seven years.

Curbishley said: "It's a bit of a crisis. Whatever side I pick seems not willing to defend.

"We've scored two goals in two home games and still been battered."

The Charlton fans made their feelings clear and Curbishley admitted he understood their concerns.

He said: "Our fans cannot take much more of this, can they?

"They have been fantastic so far this season but even if we were booed off the pitch against City who can blame them?"

Charlton have not won since they beat Chelsea in the Carling Cup in October and have conceded 17 goals in six games.

Against City Darren Bent and Jay Bothroyd scored but an Andy Cole brace and goals from Darius Vassell, Trevor Sinclair and Joey Barton completed the rout.

Charlton's next game is home to bottom club Sunderland on Saturday and Curbishley is praying his side will come good.

"Sunderland are desperate but we have got to turn this around against them and I hope we do."
