ADDICKS plc chairman Richard Murray last week suggested Charlton could add to their squad in January. Speaking after the club unveiled annual results showing an operating profit of £4.7m, and a net profit of £1.3m, covering the year ended June 30, 2005, he said: "We've really increased the wage bill this season with the likes of the Alexei Smertins and what have you coming in but I think Alan would like to get one or two players in to make sure we don't tail off in the second half of the season. Who knows, maybe one or two will go out as well." Murray also warned his fellow Premiership chairmen about the danger of a lack of competition.

SUPPORTERS can today meet manager Alan Curbishley in the Valley Superstore from 4.30pm. The visit coincides with Valley Gold day in the Superstore, with all members receiving a 15 per cent discount from 9am to 9pm. Assistant manager Keith Peacock will be in store seven days later at 5pm for around an hour.

ALAN Curbishley has insisted he is more interested in a new contract at Charlton than the stories linking him with Glasgow Rangers. He said: "The situation is I am happy at Charlton. At the moment I'm fully focused on trying to make this club even more successful. I have 18 months left on my contract. We did speak about my situation at the start of the season and again about a month ago but I said I would prefer to get the Christmas period out of the way first."

FORMER first-team coach Les Reed is to rejoin the Addicks in the new year. Reed, who left Charlton in 1998 to take up a post as director of technical development at the FA, has accepted a consultancy role to oversee the club's growing links across the globe.
