GRANT Basey is set to see a specialist today to assess how long he may be sidelined for following the ankle ligament damage he suffered at The Memorial Stadium.
It was first feared the left-back had suffered a broken leg following a late challenge by Dominic Blizzard in last Monday’s 2-1 defeat at Bristol Rovers.
David Mooney scored Charlton’s second goal in a 2-0 win against Yeovil Town on Saturday, just five days after sustaining a nasty head injury which forced him to leave the pitch against the Pirates.
Finally, Izale McLeod, currently on loan with Peterborough United, will have a knee operation on Friday which will rule him out for around two months.
PHIL Parkinson signed left-sided player Johnnie Jackson from Notts County on an initial 28-day loan on Thursday, and the 27-year-old made his debut against Yeovil Town on Saturday.
The manager said: “With the injury to Grant Basey and the absence of Kelly Youga, we have not got a recognised left-back in the club.
“John can play in midfield or at left-back, but I have predominantly brought him in to play left-back.”
TAMER Tuna joined Woking on work experience on Friday, but was on the losing end of a 5-0 defeat to clubmate Carl Jenkinson as the Cards were beaten by Welling United.
Tuna was a second-half substitute and featured against Addicks academy colleague Jenkinson, who played 90 minutes as part of his own work experience with the Wings.
JONJO Shelvey and Chris Solly have been put on standby for an England U19 international friendly away to the Netherlands on March 3.
England U19s coach Noel Blake has named an 18-man squad for the game in Waalwijk next week, with Shelvey and Solly placed on his standby list.
MORE than 200 fans had purchased five-year VIP season tickets at the start of the week, ensuring they pay current League One prices until 2015.
Charlton announced last month the club’s season-ticket prices for 2010/11 are being frozen until the end of next month, regardless of whether the team wins promotion later this year.
If promotion is secured, adult and senior/U21 prices will then rise to at least the 2008/09 Championship rates.
Fans can renew or download an application form via cafc.co.uk or by calling 0871 226 1905.

LIAM Bellamy and Callum Christie were on target as Charlton’s U18s defeated Southampton 2-0 at Sparrows Lane on Saturday.
The Addicks were also due to face Portsmouth last week only for the fixture to be postponed a second time due to a waterlogged pitch.
Charlton travel to Norwich City this weekend.
TWO tribute nights for over 18s will be taking place at The Valley next month, with Irish band Banish Misfortune and Rod Stewart act Jack Danson performing at the stadium on March 17 and 19 respectively.
Tickets are priced £19.95 and include a two-course hot buffet. Call 020-8333 4020 for details.
A WATERLOGGED pitch at Beckenham Town led to the postponement of the London Cup semi-final between the Charlton women’s team and Millwall Ladies on Sunday.
The Addicks are due to return to action away at Keynsham Town on Sunday.
FANS wishing to watch the Addicks from the comfort of a Valley executive box only have two more matches from which to choose – the fixtures against Carlisle United and Colchester United in April.
The boxes seat 10 people and the packages include car parking, a champagne reception and food and drink.
