CRYSTAL Palace manager Neil Warnock will today meet with the clubs administrators to discuss the current state of the club.
Speaking after his side's disappointing 3-1 defeat to fellow strugglers Reading at Selhurst Parklast night, Warnock admitted he hadn’t spoken to the administrators in a while but hoped the talks would fully bring him up to date with the off the pitch affairs.
He said: “I am actually seeing him (the administrator) again tomorrow (Thursday) morning.
“I haven’t seen him for about 10 days so I would imagine he will be filling me in on what the situation is really.
“It must be difficult for him I would think to find a buyer that can satisfy the people that have put us in administration.
“I will know more tomorrow obviously. It is not a nice situation, but we have got to get on with it.”
A Simon Church brace and a strike from Jimmy Kebe were enough to secure the points for the Royals lifting them out of the drop zone above Palace leaving the Eagles one place out of the relegation but only by goal difference.
Warnock knew exactly his side’s problems and did not hold back with his feelings.
He added: “The main problem was the poor defending. You can’t legislate for that at Sunday league level, let alone Championship level.
“Goals change games really. If Ambrose’s first shot goes in and one or two of the others then we get a lift, instead they got an absolutely pathetic goal from our point of view defensively.
“We had a few words at half time and I though t it was a good response but once again because of pathetic defending we were up against it.
“You can’t legislate for school boy defending. If you defend like that then you won’t beat anybody so we have got to brush up on that.”
Palace will be hoping to put the latest defeat behind them when they host Coventry City at the weekend.
Warnock revealed Neil Danns and Darren Ambrose finished the game with slight knocks and he may now look to rotate his squad for the match on Saturday.
He said: “We have got to try and play the lads who have got a spark. We have got to get back to basics and get as much rest as we can because the games are coming thick and fast.
“We are going to need some of the younger lads in certain areas and Matt Lawrence will come into mind for the weekend looking at the list of knocks we have got.
“We have to get our minds and bodies rested and get ready for Clinton (Morrison) and the brigade on Saturday.
“We will do a bit of light training Friday and then get ready for another battle.”
