KENNY Jackett says he is glad Tottenham striker John Obika is on the brink of joining Millwall until the end of the campaign.
The 19-year-old, who has been on loan with League One rivals Yeovil Town this season, is expected to formally finalise the deal tomorrow.
However, Jackett is confident there won’t be any hitches and hopes the England U19 star will be a useful addition in Millwall’s quest for promotion.
He told News Shopper: “We are taking him on what is known as a youth loan until the end of the season.
“There is some flexibility in it and it is a good system because the big clubs can loan out some of their promising youngsters outside of the window.
“I’m pleased to have John in because it gives me more options up front.
“Shaun Batt is on eight bookings and isn’t far from a suspension, while Steve Morison is playing with a severely bruised foot, so I don’t want to get caught short in that area.
“John is a young player I’ve liked and I think he can do very well for us in our front line.”
