MILLWALL boss Kenny Jackett praised his side’s approach after their 4-1 friendly victory at Dartford last night on the ground where the Lions’ second-string will play their fixtures in the coming campaign.
Goals from Neil Harris, Jason Price (2) and Danny Senda saw Millwall race into a comfortable 4-0 lead at Princes Park before Ryan Hayes grabbed a consolation penalty for the Ryman Premiership side.
Jackett said: “I thought we showed a good attitude tonight because in games like these, and I mean no disrespect to Dartford, attitudes can be questionable where players don’t want to get injured.
“I thought we moved the ball well and tried to play the right way.
“We scored some goals but it would have been nice to score some more.
“As an exercise, it was a useful one, there is no doubt about that.”
The game drew a sell-out crowd to Princes Park, with a large contingent of Millwall supporters eager to get their first look at the stadium.
Jackett spoke of the link-up between the two sides and hinted it could see Lions youngsters heading to the Darts on loan.
But he also admitted the priority was to put on a competitive friendly ahead of the reserve team’s move to the ground.
Jackett explained: “With our reserves coming here, it was important to bring a side here because it’s a well-supported Millwall area.
“We have an ex-player of theirs in Dave Martin who has done well for us, so we like to do a little bit for Dartford as well.”
