OUT of contract defender Jonathan Fortune played 45 minutes on trial for Championship side Sheffield United on Saturday.

The centre-half, Charlton’s longest-serving player, has yet to agree a new deal with the Addicks.

On the same day, out-of-favour full-back Yassin Moutaouakil played 45 minutes for Premier League side Portsmouth.

CHARLTON’S new red home kit will be launched tomorrow night prior to the friendly against Ipswich Town - but supporters who wish to get their hands on the strip before the start of the season are being urged to act swiftly.

A limited number - around 500 – went on sale due to delays in the production of the kit caused by the delay in announcing new kit sponsor Kent Reliance Building Society.

The shirts will only be available in person from the Valley Superstore.

FOUR or five players are required by the Addicks, according to manager Phil Parkinson.

“At the moment, we only have one centre-back signed up,” he said.

“We’ve got gaps in the squad but the ones that are here, their attitude has been first class. I’ve enjoyed working with them so far in pre-season, but this is only the start.”
