FANS of Charlton Athletic are to explore the possibility of forming a Supporters Trust at a meeting next week.
With the Addicks in the process of protracted takeover talks, the period of uncertainty has heightened supporter concern of the long-term direction and sustainability of the club, and equally the lack of supporter input.
Supporters Direct is a funded organisation which assists in the establishment and development of supporter groups to achieve responsible, democratic representation within their clubs.
Members of SD are to attend a meeting with Addicks supporters on August 4 at 7pm at Charlton Conservative Club, Charlton Church Lane.
They will explain the process of Supporter Trusts in greater detail, how the process has worked successfully with other clubs and will also offer advice regarding structure, aims and objectives.
The meeting has primarily been arranged to gain a greater understanding of the independent Trust concept for supporters, the options available and to exchange preliminary views.
It is open to all Charlton fans, whether they wish to undertake some involvement, or simply have an interest in the Trust concept.
