NEIL Harris fired Millwall to a superb victory over Leeds United at the Den, giving the home side their sixth win in their last seven games.

The Lions hero was only in the side due to the suspension of Jermaine Easter and the ineligibility of Tresor Kandol, but he took his opportunity in style.

Luciano Becchio gave the visitors the lead in emphatic fashion on 30 minutes with a superb left foot drive.

The Argentinean forward found himself in space 30 yards from goal and unleashed a fierce shot which flew into the bottom corner giving the Lions stopper David Forde no chance.

It had been United’s first effort of the game and Millwall, urged on by a seasons best crowd of 13,041, started the better and had seen two reasonable penalty claims waived away by Andre Marriner.

David Martin looked particularly sharp for the Lions and it was the left winger who levelled the scores on 37 minutes.

Zac Whitbread picked out Neil Harris on the edge of the Leeds box and he cleverly laid the ball inside to Martin.

The 23-year-old burst into the box and cleverly chipped over the on rushing Leeds goalkeeper David Lucas.

Harris got on the score sheet himself on 58 minutes when Mark Laird played a short corner to Lewis Grabban and crossed the return pass onto the head of Harris who flicked the ball into the far corner.

That set up a tense final half hour for the Lions as they looked to hold onto the lead.

However Harris wasn’t finished and with four minutes left he sealed the points for Millwall.

A poor back pass allowed Gary Alexander the chance to steal in.

His effort was blocked by Lucas in the Leeds goal but the rebound fell to Harris who, from eight yards out and an acute angle found the back of the net.
