Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner confirmed that Mathues Franca and Trevoh Chalobah have returned to training at Copers Cope after spells on the sidelines.

Chalobah, on loan from London rivals Chelsea, sustained an injury during his first training session with the club which has seen the Englishman absent from Crystal Palace’s past two games

However, the 25-year-old could be set for his Palace debut on Saturday at Goodison Park with the defender available for selection.

His availability is apt for the Eagles, with United States international Chris Richards suffering a hamstring injury in training this week.

“Trevoh will be in the squad, he is available,” Glasner revealed. “Also we have lost Chris Richards this week and he is not available for the next few weeks with a hamstring injury.”

Since joining the club from Flamengo last summer, £25 million Mathues Franca has spent most of his time in South London on the sidelines - most recently with fractured ribs. As with Chalobah, Franca made his return to training this week, but he is not quite ready for Saturday’s clash against Everton.

“Franca will not be in the squad following his first complete week with us after I think almost six months.

“It would be unfair to him to put him in the squad too. But he is doing well, he feels well, he has no problem.”

Glasner confirmed that besides the loss of Richards, the Eagles have no fresh injuries as they seek their first win of the season.

“The other players are available, so it is still Cheick Doucoure and Chadi Riad who can’t play, but the others had a good week and we take confidence to Merseyside.”
