LIONS boss Gary Rowett has suggested that he wants to add more attackers to his squad before the start of the club's Championship campaign.

Rowett's side lost in their last pre-season game 5-3 on penalties but before the shootout had played out a 0-0 draw against Hammarby at The Den.

Throughout the game Millwall were unable to create much threat to the opposition's goal.

The club have lost key attacker Jed Wallace this summer and replacing his ability going forward could be crucial in the club's aspirations for promotion to the Premier League.

The manager has suggested that he "can add" to his squad over the next "week or so" in order to improve his options going forward.

Rowett told London News Online: “That last little bit of quality will come – we’ve got the players to do it – and it may be we can add to that over the next sort of week or so. That’s something we’re trying to do, but I’ve been pretty pleased on the whole with the majority of it.

“In the second half we stepped up a bit more and played with a bit more energy and intensity, we pinned them in and had a bit more of the ball. As the season starts and the pre-season comes to an end you just want to sharpen up a little bit around the edge of the box and create just a few more chances.

“I’m pleased with a lot of the game, I don’t think anyone was too concerned about the penalties

“I’ve been pleased with some of the new player's performances. George Honeyman was really bright today, he shows great energy and desire to get a lot of intensity into his movement.

“Jamie Shackleton came on in the second half, and you can see what a good player he will be for us.

“Benno [Mason Bennett] was excellent in the second half.

“There were some good moments first half, some good little moves which just fell down at the end.”
