Although their play-off hopes were over, Bromley entertained Altrincham looking to build momentum ahead of their trip to Wembley for the F.A. Trophy final.
Andy Woodman’s players also wanted to impress him looking to earn a starting place against Wrexham but they failed to build on their early lead and had to settle for a point.
After a quiet first fifteen minutes the game burst alive. Patient build up play by Bromley saw them get it in to Mason Bloomfield and although there looked to be little danger his touch gave him a chance to shoot and he drove it into the bottom corner.
Moments later the visitors should have levelled. Shaun Densmore crossed and Kole Hall got in behind but headed over from close range. It then went straight up to the other end and fell for Harry Forster to let fly but Matthew Gould made a flying two handed save.
Dan Mooney had an opportunity for the visitors and whipped in a curler that just missed the far post before Bromley were again on the attack and James Alabi chested down well before outmuscling his man but his fierce drive flew over the angle of post and bar.
Shortly before half time, Bromley came very close to extending their lead. A foul on Forster as he burst through presented the Ravens with a free kick in a great position. Chris Bush dummied to send it one way but Joe Partington went the other only to see his effort rattle the bar with Gould well beaten.
Jude Arthurs turned well in midfield but fired well over from twenty five yards however the second half had a decidedly end of season feel to it. Liam Trotter volleyed wide when a half clearance came out at an awkward height and Isaac Marriott fired well over from distance for the visitors.
A clever reverse pass by Ben Pringle gave Hall a chance but he drilled his shot wide. Bromley failed to heed the warning and conceded with three minutes remaining. Mooney capped off an excellent performance with an excellent finish just inside the far post.
Gould almost got caught out in injury time when dithering with a clearance but he hit it against Luke Coulson’s leg and it rebounded wide for a goalkick.
