FORMER Millwall forward Sam Parking has suggested that the club will have to look down the divisions to find a replacement for Jed Wallace.
The winger is expected to leave The Den once his contract expires unless the club can agree on a new deal with him.
Wallace has been superb for the club since his arrival from Wolves, making 260 appearances for the club, scoring 42 goals and assisting 49 more.
A player of his quality will be tough to replace and it could take time during the summer transfer window for manager Gary Rowett to find the right player
Parkin, who played seven times for Millwall scoring four times, explained how the Lions could replace Wallace when he appeared on the Totally Football League Show.
He said: “No one would’ve envisaged Jed Wallace producing so consistently at Millwall on his arrival from Wolves.
“It’ll be hard to get someone in who can replicate those types of numbers and his consistency.
“He’s been phenomenal and I don’t imagine they’ll have much money to reinvest, so it’s going to have to be a loan, or taking an opportunity on someone from a lower division, to try and replace him.
“What they have done is drip-feed younger players into the side this season, who’ve been brilliant.
“It’s been an incredibly successful season for Millwall, when the dust settles.”
