BURNLEY are reportedly interested in signing Eagles striker Christian Benteke as a replacement for Chris Wood.
The Clarets sold their star forward to relegation rivals Newcastle for a fee of £25 million after his release clause was activated.
This now means that the Lancashire side are on the hunt for a new striker to fire them towards safety and have enquired about Palace's Benteke.
Palace have since put a £12 million price tag on the Belgian's head and according to Sportsmail the club would be open to selling him this month.
Benteke has been a regular under manager Patrick Vieira this season as he has made 22 appearances in all competitions this season.
The 31-year-old is in the last 18 months of his contract at Selhurst Park and could leave for free at the end of the 2022/23 season.
If Benteke was to be sold it could change the fortunes of on-loan striker Jean-Philippe Mateta.

It was suggested that the Eagles would be willing to let Mateta leave the club, but a recent improvement in form and the potential exit of Benteke could see him given a fresh chance at the club.
