PALACE boss Patrick Vieira was "happy" with the point against Brighton despite being minutes from victory.
The Eagles looked set to win the Premier League match against their rivals thanks to a brilliant finish from Conor Gallagher in the 69th minute.
Palace were only three minutes from victory but were undone after Neal Maupay's cutback was turned into the goal by Joachim Andersen.
However, Vieira was glad to have a point to take back to Selhurst Park due to the dominant performance from Brighton.
Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira talking to Sky Sports: "I am happy with the draw and the point we took back home.
"Brighton were really dominant but they were getting frustrated because they couldn't create many chances and they took more risks as the game went on.
"We were patient and we defended well and we are going back with a point."
