Josh Cullen’s long-term future lies away from Charlton Athletic even if the Addicks avoid the drop.
The West Ham man has been a positive for Lee Bowyer’s side this season despite their lowly league position.
Following a successful loan spell in 2018/19, it was somewhat of a coup in landing the Irish international’s services for the current campaign.
Despite injury, the 23-year-old has made 25 appearances for The Valley outfit and is seen as an instrumental cog on in Bowyer’s survival pans.
A fan-favourite amongst Charlton fans, Cullen would be at the top of most wish lists in the summer, but according to a West Ham insider, David Moyes is keen to give their academy product a chance at the Hammers.
“Josh Cullen may be given the summer, again, to try and prove himself because he’s done well at Charlton this year,” the West Ham insider told the WHU Podcast.
“I think Moyes wants to take a second look at him.
“There’s some interest from other clubs so I think he’ll get the summer to try and prove himself.”
It was reported earlier in the week that a number of clubs were keen on the midfielder, with Bournemouth, West Brom, Norwich and Leeds United registering an interest.
With West Ham triggering an option to extend his deal to the end of next season, it’ll be the Hammers who have the final say.
